Dinner time

So, I’ve decided to do more random posts and I hope you will like it. Today I was running around my university getting all of the paper necessary to officially obtain my bachelor’s degree after which I had coffee with my friends and it started to rain like crazy. We had to get to the car and we were soaking wet. There was water literally pouring down my face and arms and I had to squeeze the rain out of my hair before getting into my apartment to have a nice, long shower. The rains in Zadar can get crazy, trust me.

The day after tomorrow I am going home to my mommy for a while so I have my “clean the fridge” action going on. I am absolutely against throwing food away and there’s a bunch of veggies and fruits in my fridge so I’m just trying to eat or freeze everything there is. This gives me the opportunity to eat large, delicious meals like this one.

I have me some chicken breasts cooked on olive oil, steamed broccoli and yellow beans, a bit of onion (love to put it in everything), some kidney beans, rye bread and tzatziki. One of the things people sometimes think is weird about me is how much I love to eat broccoli. I am the child every parent wants LOL.  I am trying to eat healthier and exercise and I just killed it with this dinner. I am so full!

For tonight I think I’ll tune in with some videos by Jay Shetty. I recently joined his Genius Group and I’m catching up with everything and all of the videos. I just find him to be so amazing and able to inspire people to become better.

I hope you are having a great evening or day (depends where you are from). Thank you for reading, love you so much!

Caramelized banana oatmeal

Good morning! I don’t know what time it is in your country (tell me in the comments) but here in Croatia it’s 10:20 in the morning and I’ve been up since 8. Decided to take a morning walk to clear out my head and run some errands and now I’m enjoying my delicious, sweet breakfast.

I wrote in my post Grateful that I’m a big breakfast enthusiast so I decided to share one of my favorite and very easy breakfast recipe. This is my caramelized banana oatmeal.

All you need is some oatmeal, a banana, honey, salt, coconut oil and cinnamon. You cook your oatmeal on the side and you heat up a pan. Place the coconut oil, honey, salt and cinnamon on to the pan and when everything is nice and melted place your banana slices there. Turn them once to get some caramel on the other side as well. When you place everything into the bowl add some more cinnamon or flax seed, as you wish and enjoy your breakfast!

In my version there is also a large cup of black coffee waiting for me because I have so much studying to do today. I was a bit disappointed yesterday because I found out I failed an exam. It was actually translating a text from Croatian to Spanish and I honestly thought I did a good job, but no. I failed. It’s not the end of the world because I have the right to take the exams four more times so I’m going to study really hard to pass it.

This is pretty much it from me today. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Sunday Funday

nephew pancake family food

On Saturday, my birthday, the weather was just awful. It was cold, windy and rainy so I’ve spent my birthday recovering from the previous night out with my girls. Yesterday my mum and sister took me out to eat pancakes and celebrate my birthday. Of course that my little nephew was also there to make my day. You see the pictures very well so I don’t think I need to say how good the pancakes were.

Breakfast and barbecue

I ate too much yesterday. Waaaaay to much. My friends and I had a small barbecue and in the morning, while everyone was still sleeping, I made my boyfriend and me some breakfast. We went to McDonalds last Sunday and he really wanted to try the Mcwrap breakfast tortilla so I gave it a go. It turned out pretty good, pretty tasty, I was proud of myself because I am not much of a cook.

breakfast

The tortilla is homemade and it’s one of the rare things I can do because it’s extremely easy. Some water, flour, salt, oil and tadaaaah. We filled them up with some scrambled eggs, salad, tomatoes and bacon. On the side we have some fruit, a cappuccino and I have to drink my magnesium which tastes awful.

Later that day we had a barbecue. The boys did most of the work. Ivana and I made sure we have something to drink. There was some beer for the guys and some wine for us. I just have to say it was so good. After we ate we watched some TV and in the end we watched Deadpool so I had a chance to see the whole movie and not fall asleep like last time.

Today I have to get down to work because I’ve been procrastinating like crazythese past few days. That’s it for me today, hope you’re having a lovely Sunday. Love you all!

Pancakes for dinner

Today I’ve got an A from one of my toughest exams and my roommate and I went out to celebrate with some pancakes. And yes, they were as good as they look.

pancakesMy roommate went for a Raffaello coconut version while I went all chocolate. Mine is with Nutella, Kinder Bueno, chocolate mousse and some bananas inside, you know I just wanted to keep it healthy haha.

chocolateI love the interior design of this pancake bar. It’s modern but a bit rustic and it just has a nice atmosphere. When you sit there you feel like home. Here are some pictures.

homeI wore a whole black outfit in order to make myself look slimmer after the sugar bomb I ate. Just kidding, most of the time I wear black. I’m in love with my new hat because it’s just so beautiful, goes good with everything and most importantly hides bad hair days.

all black outfit ootdI’m going to spend the rest of the evening on the couch watching TV shows and being fat. Have fun guys, kisses!

Breakfast time

Breakfast time! I haven’t eaten strawberries in so long and when I saw then in the grocery store I couldn’t leave without them.

breakfastSo, I just toasted some bread, placed some peanut butter to get my protein and chopped up some fruit on top to get some sugar in my breakfast. Of course that I have a coffee on the side because there’s no life without coffee.

I try to eat better because my organism was feeling down due to late night studying and exhaustion but there is one thing I’ll never be able to get out of my food menu and that’s bread. I used to even eat it with pasta before. But at least I try to eat whole grains bread.

Today I’m spending all day at home but tomorrow I’m off to my university again. Can’t wait for the weekend to go out partying and also I had a deal with my roommate to treat ourselves with some pancakes after the exam.

I’m also working on a new poem so I hope I’ll have it up by the weekend or at least next week. Enjoy your day everyone. Kisses!

Pasta with veggies and squid

I ATE SQUIDWARD TODAY!

squidwardI went to the store to do some shopping and, as always, I’ll never leave the store without something that wasn’t on the shopping list. Today it was a squid.

LUNCHAll you need is some squid, pasta, zucchini, tomatoes, olive oil, onions and spices. While the pasta is cooking put the olive oil into the pan and cook your chopped up onion until golden brown. Add the squid, zucchini and tomatoes and season with some pepper and salt. I also used granulated garlic.

When the pasta is done just throw it into the pan, mix it all up and if you want you can add some more spices. The tomatoes will be like a sauce and the squid will give it all a nice flavor. I ate it with some toasted bread and arugula salad. Hope you like it!
