Running a mile

I’m running a mile just to clear my head. Let
go of everything and just look ahead. The music
is setting the rhythm of my legs, the waves kissing
the beach are keeping me awake.

I’m running a mile for every stupid thing you said.
Guess I will be running forever. The ground under me
are all the lies, regrets and memories, the air surrounding me
is healing the wounds and erasing the misery.

I’m running a mile to kill off all the things suffocating me.
Out on the open road, next to the beach, I’m running out
of breath just to be able to breathe. I’ll let the sea take my
pressure off and drag it to the bottom so I could live.

I’m running a mile and I’ll be running until my legs give up on me.
I’m not stopping until I’m so exhausted I can’t get back home.
I’ll be on the beach looking at the sunrise and soaking in the energy.
when I’ll be strong enough to face another day I’ll sprint back
but right now I need some time to clear my head.
